Sustainable from the very beginning
At Hotel Gran Rey we are an organisation devoted to defending the environment. We understand that our activity must ensure the appropriate use of natural resources to guarantee a sustainable development that benefits our municipality, the island of La Gomera and the Canarian archipelago.
Our effort translates into transparent management, endorsed by the most demanding environmental certifications at an international level.

Small gestures, big changes
Your stay at our hotel is part of a cycle of environmental respect. We work daily so that every detail of your room and your stay minimises the ecological footprint:
A large part of our hot water is produced using solar energy and all our light fittings use low-energy bulbs.
We install water-saving devices in showers and washbasins, and encourage towel washing only upon responsible request.
We use soap dispensers to avoid individual packaging and offer water and soft drinks in returnable glass bottles.
We manage every piece of waste generated to ensure its recycling or recovery.
Our staff receive specific training to protect the natural resources that surround us.

How do we make it a reality?
We have a vision of the future for La Gomera and we surround ourselves with experts to achieve it. We collaborate closely with technicians from the Garajonay National Park and sustainability consultants from Spain and Germany to implement the best environmental practices. Furthermore, we are committed to the circular economy by purchasing from local suppliers and growing part of our vegetables in our own organic kitchen garden.
